Having looked through the netrek.org website I wonder who maintains the RSA keys for clients and the software archive? I have ported a SGI IRIX sound server from paradise/spacetrek to the COW client (which seems more up-to-date than the paradise client) and would like to contribute this to the official distribution if it makes sense. I can also create an inst-image for easy installation, but will do so only if there are other people wanting to run this on an IRIX system (I for myself don't need inst-images :-) Best wishes, Stefan From quozl at us.netrek.org Fri Dec 19 16:22:20 2008 From: quozl at us.netrek.org (James Cameron) Date: Sat, 20 Dec 2008 09:22:20 +1100 Subject: [netrek-dev] netrek on SGI In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: <20081219222220.GA18607@us.netrek.org> G'day Stefan, Send me patches to COW, or this mailing list. However, the canonical address for that is clientkeys at clientkeys.netrek.org for any key related items. I don't do the software repository. --Carlos V. Do we have a eta. on when it will be back up? No, it depends on too many factors. Work is in progress, but it is a bad time of the year, and the week, to get anything done. I can make some estimates for you though ... 1. 95% likely to be up within a week, 2. 75% likely to be up by 30th December, 3. 45% likely to be up by 29th December. The impact until then can be described by refering to the Services List on the Netrek Development Wiki, and noting where "orion" appears: http://wiki.us.netrek.org/netrek-dev/ServicesList - netrek.org web site, - metaserver2.us.netrek.org metaserver. -- James Cameron mailto:quozl at us.netrek.org http://quozl.netrek.org/ From ahn at orion.netrek.org Tue Dec 30 21:47:29 2008 From: ahn at orion.netrek.org (Dave Ahn) Date: Tue, 30 Dec 2008 22:47:29 -0500 Subject: [netrek-dev] Netrek services back up Message-ID: <20081231034729.GA1818@orion.netrek.org> The system that hosts the primary Netrek services has experienced a hardware failure with the power supply. The folks at Real Time who provide the hosting services have been spectacular in helping with this situation, and they have even provided a temporary replacement server until ours can be fixed. Primary Netrek services, including www.netrek.org, is now back up. I'm expecting the replacement parts to arrive late next week, so for the next two weeks or so, you may notice some secondary Netrek services being down or less responsive. We are looking into some alternatives for backup or redundant systems in order to reduce the impact of our primary server going offline. Thanks for your patience and understanding. Special thanks to Real Time and everyone else who help to maintain or support the Netrek infrastructure and community. Dave
