I'm sure not all of you are on reddit that's why I thought I'd post here. Someone write a browser version of netrek and posted about it at https://www.reddit.com/r/Netrek/comments/1t6yc7x/i_built_a_browser_clone_of_netrek/ He/she doesn't seem to know a lot about netrek. Anyway, I thought it would be interesting. These days it's pretty easy to have an AI rewrite the game to run in a browser or something like that. With WebTransport there is also a way to do both TCP and UDP in a browser now. Heiko has some interesting ideas where to take the game with this… Cheers -Sven From quozl at laptop.org Sat May 23 21:47:23 2026 From: quozl at laptop.org (James Cameron) Date: Sun, 24 May 2026 12:47:23 +1000 Subject: [netrek-dev] Someone built a browser clone of netrek In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: Thanks. Works okay. I agree. In my own use of coding agents I've found it much easier now to write new things. Apart from individual efforts, the biggest problem we would face is attracting a user base and reaching agreement on what to implement.
