Sorry if I'm jumping in late, but to run multiple inputs to the same monitor (assuming it's analog) is much more complex than just plugging in. You have to make sure that there is synchronization. In T.V. we used to call this gen lock -- you can't mix video signals willy-nilly -- they have to have synchronized blanking intervals (i.e., go back to the top left at the same time.) Unless you're handy enough at surplus electronics that you'd have known the answer anyway, you'll end up spending as much on things to make it work as if you'd just bought a new cheap monitor. I have seen some TV cards that let you open a window with the TV in it though -- isn't that close to what you want? I believe that's more of a software / firmware soln.
