gcc comes with every linux dist, it's cosmic law. As for GNU Cash,
like any program, if you have the proper libs installed for it the program
really doesn't care what desktop you may or may not be running. At least
for the most part; some apps designed for gnome do dumb shit like assuming
you want a gnome control panel running.
