I installed KDE on my parents' machine, and dad discovered the CD player
software (dunno exactly what software it is, I never touch KDE). however,
if he turns the volume control on it all the way up, it's still pretty faint.
does KDE have anything equivalent to Windows' volume control?
I've always had a mechanical volume knob of some sort on my sound
card/speakers; usually set to "off", so I've never had to learn how to deal
with volume control under linux. ;>

it needs to be as GUI as possible, too; because my dad barely understands
the concept of logging on. anything involving typing more than one command
is probably going to be too much.
