Neat web site.  He is wrong about the notail options.  It works just fine.
You need to mount the root partition with -notail and also change it in
/etc/fstab.  After you have mounted the root partition -notail, you run
lilo.  As long as your /etc/fstab is updated, you will boot just fine.
