Depending on your setup, your linux box might not be able to resolve the hostname of the box your connecting from. If your doing an internal network, you can fix this by setting up a private root DNS server for your provate network, manually create static entries in /etc/hosts, or add entries to /etc/hosts.allow and remove parinoid checking in /etc/hosts.deny.
