hrm.. I don't think you can do a * for Named virtual hosts.  have you
tried it with just the IP address of the host?
also, try doing
ServerAlias fireopal.org
ServerAlias *fireopal.org

I've never seen "NameVirtualHost *" used in any of the docs.
