Actually, it does not matter which port you use on *either* hub, *provided* that the cable between them is a crossover cable. An uplink port is just a normal port that has the crossover wired internally. Usually, there is a switch on the hub to change one port between being a normal port and being an uplink port. Sometimes, there are two physical ports which share the same internal connection, with one of them being wired as an uplink and one not.
