speaking of the command line and nifty audio tools.. i don't know if it's already been mentioned in this thread, but for ripping from cd to ogg/flac (and mp3) i've been using a perl script called crip (http://bach.dynet.com/crip/). i used to use grip (mentioned above) but i got tired of various quirks in it. crip is quick and easy and i really like it's default method of naming files: [artist]-[album abreviation][track #]-[title] it keeps albums sorted properly even if i have multiple albums by one artist in one directory.
