if you're interested in more information on this topic, i highly
recommend checking out the work being done by the EFF[1].  they have
an action center where you can quickly and easily contact the
appropriate representatives with, what i have found to be, well
written form letters and reasonable stances on topics of interest
here. 

these folks do a lot of good work and are right up there w/{m,n}pr as
far as charitable donation dollars well spent.
