Google is your friend: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=bittorrent+faq&btnG=Google+Search <http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=bittorrent+faq&btnG=Google+Search> Main issue is probably that your client is firewalled. If you open ports 6881-6889 (or higher) then you will be able to download from more people which equals faster speeds (see http://btfaq.com/serve/cache/25.html <http://btfaq.com/serve/cache/25.html> ). Be sure you also don't have stale .torrent files. Bittorrent is different from many p2p apps, but it is also similar in that there have to be others sharing in order for a torrent to stay alive. Try www.suprnova.org for one...big torrent site. sk3tch ________________________________ From: tclug-list-bounces at mn-linux.org on behalf of Jay Kline Sent: Wed 5/5/2004 12:07 PM To: tclug-list at mn-linux.org Subject: [TCLUG] bittorrent help Ok- so I tried to use bittorrent again today, and had no luck. The documentation is very limited... is there a quick tutorial somewhere on how to get downloading with it? Or does someone have any tips? Everytime I try to run it, I get suck at "connecting to peers (0.0%)" forever. Running the bittorrent dist out of debian testing.
