Hey everyone, I hope someone can offer a suggestion on this non-Linux-specific networking question. I posted recently about putting my Vonage VoIP box inside my home network. I decided to give the Motorola ATA a static IP so I could do port forwarding if necessary from my IPCop firewall. Using the Motorola's Web built-in Web interface I set the ATA's IP address to 192.168.1.75. Unfortunately, I set the netmask to 255.255.0.0 instead of 255.255.255.0 which is how I've configured the rest of my home network (192.168.1.0/24). I can no longer access the ATA's Web server and change the config. There is no external "reset to factory defaults" button. You have to access the web page to reset the unit. There's a "PC" port on the back of the unit that can be used to interface with the ATA. Under normal circumstances, the ATA will do DHCP/NAT and give out 192.168.102.100 as the first IP address. I've tried setting a static IP on my Powerbook with a 255.255.0.0 netmask and plugging it into the PC port. Nothing I've tried has allowed me to access the ATA's Web page. At this point, I'm beginning to think that I'm going to have to exchange this ATA for a new one just so I can get it working again! Anyone have any ideas? -Tim -- Tim Wilson Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Educational technology guy, Linux and OS X fan, Grad. student, Daddy mailto: wilson at visi.com aim: tis270 public key: 0x8C0F8813 _______________________________________________ TCLUG Mailing List - Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota http://www.mn-linux.org tclug-list at mn-linux.org https://mailman.real-time.com/mailman/listinfo/tclug-list
