Hello all,

The posts from new people reminded me that I want to branch out.

My laptop (ThinkPad 600X) currently has WinXP (sigh) and Fedora Core 2 on
it. While Fedora works OK, reading about Debian has me intrigued. I gave
it a half-hearted try, but it didn't even install correctly. I put Fedora
back on.

I'm going to give it another go soon, so be prepared for some really
elementary questions. I have read a few web pages about installation, but
they are really rare and sparse. Most of them seem to be geared toward
someone who hasn't installed Debian LATELY.

Another hurdle I have not jumped is getting wireless working. I have a
LinkSys WPC54G, which is supposed to be one of the most popular cards on
the planet, and apparently a lot of people get it to work with little
issue, and I am inept at finding a good HOWTO on the matter.

Anyway, welcome to Ryan, hello again to Eric and all the other new folks.

And when is the next installfest?

Chris Schumann
