Do you use Flash with Firefox? That was a common cause of some hefty
lockups for me in Linux. Only difference is I could usually still ssh in,
kill flash, and recover without a reboot. The plugin container would be
eating up proc utilization and I think there was (maybe still is) a memory
leak with the no longer maintained Linux plugin.
