Re: (ASCEND) Getting USR Sportsters to behave...

I don't know about the rest of you, but 5.0Ap36 is giving me major
headaches with most of my customers who use USR's. Now according to the
last release I saw, Ap36 was supposed to fix most of the problems that
USR's had connecting to the box. This is obviously not true according to
my tech support queue. The biggest problem I'm seeing, is that people get
their connection, and it's fine, until they try to send any data across
it. At that point, the connection goes south, and there is virtually no
throughput.

What's the deal guys? Is there any debug info we can give for you to
work this out?

On another note, most of the manufacturers that I've spoken to, take the
source code from Rockwell, to add their own features, and tweak Rockwells.
Does Ascend employ any modem engineers who can do the same, so that we can
stop this charade of blaming Rockwell for every problem that comes along,
and have the people that we are purchasing our equipment from (read
Ascend) take some responsibility for the issues, instead of sitting there
passing blame onto the next guy?
