It gives you additional information such as Signal to Noise ratio, retrain requested by server, retrain requested by client, whether client is a USR modem, etc. Rockwell has a program to parse these results. It's free. Here is an example of the parsed output: Current Transmit Speed : 31200 bps Minimum Transmit Speed : 31200 bps Maximum Transmit Speed : 31200 bps Current Receive Speed : 28800 bps Minimum Receive Speed : 28800 bps Maximum Receive Speed : 28800 bps Error Correction Protocol : LAP-M Compression type : V.42bis Modulation : V.34 Symbol Rate : 3429 baud Transmit Carrier Frequency : 1959 Hz Receive Carrier Frequency : 1959 Hz Last AGC Gain value : -12.000000 dB Minimum AGC Gain value : -12.000000 dB Maximum AGC Gain value : -12.000000 dB Transmit level : 10 Transmit level reduction : 3 Last EQM read : 13 Minimum EQM value : FF Maximum EQM value : 00 # of EQM hits : 0 EQM Sum value : 0034A8 Reserved : 0 Reserved : 0 SNR Ratio : 37.200000 dB Minimum SNR Ratio : 37.200000 dB Maximum SNR Ratio : 37.200000 dB # of Local Retrains : 0 # of Remote Retrains : 0 # of Local Rate Renegs : 0 # of Remote Rate Renegs : 0 Transmit Non-linear Encoding: YES Receive Non-linear Encoding : YES Transmit precoding : NO Receive precoding : YES Transmit Shaping : No Receive Shaping : Yes Trellis mapping : 64 state Pre-emphasis : Filter #0 Upper band edge : 3825.000000 Lower band edge : 150.000000 Round trip delay : 3.207495 ms Info Sequence 0 : 21FF Highest Transmit State : 67 Highest Receive State : 67 Time connected : 0 Hours 0 Minutes 19 Seconds Auto gain amplitude : 0 dB Auto gain attenuation : 0 dB Maximum retransmissions : 1 Total retransmissions : 0 Disconnect Reason : Link Disconnect New Field in Q : 255 Kevin ++ Ascend Users Mailing List ++ To unsubscribe: send unsubscribe to ascend-users-request@bungi.com To get FAQ'd: <http://www.nealis.net/ascend/faq> ++ Ascend Users Mailing List ++ To unsubscribe: send unsubscribe to ascend-users-request@bungi.com To get FAQ'd: <http://www.nealis.net/ascend/faq>

Prev by Date: (ASCEND) Death of the Incremental releases?

Next by Date: Re: (ASCEND) anyone know if bri bug is fixed yet?

Prev by thread: Re: (ASCEND) modemdiag output on 5.0Ap36

Next by thread: RE: (ASCEND) modemdiag output on 5.0Ap36

Index(es):

Main

Thread
