Over here, we frequently have problems with lost modem packs on bootup,
however I haven't seen a situation yet where the WAN ports become
unavailable.  I'll ask around and see if anyone else has had fun with
this though.

Our biggest problem right now appears to be a discrepancy
between the display you get when telnetting to an Ascend and the display
you get when doing an SNMP query to an Ascend.  It makes it very hard to
tell how accurate your daily reports are. :(
