Castle Rock Computing (408-366-6540) makes a very nice
SNMP package for Windoze 3.x, Windoze 95, and (I assume)
Windoze NT. It costs less than $1,000 (US). The name is "SNMPc".

When compared to the $7,000 SunNetManager, I find few differences
in basic features/abilities, and SNMPc can send error messages to
pagers as a result of alarm events. Toss a few copies on a few
outdated 486-class notebook computers, and one can transfer SNMP
monitoring/management among a group of people as required.

The built-in TFTP server works well, and the advantages of having
a dedicated SNMP engine that is independent of all the resources
        being monitored should be obvious.

With a decent winsock, one CAN run this beastie over a mere
28.8kbps dial-up connection, so one can work on one's network
from the Delta Crown room at any airport.

"Political Correctness" has transferred the stigma associated with certain
unfortunate forms of conduct to the person who objects to such conduct.
