Re: (ASCEND) 56K - Power drain/heat/powersupply issues

Ahh.. My favorite subject.. HEAT and Ascend. Well I got a full load
box just he other day of K-56 cardz. And I started taking temps, Good
word in Ascends favor is that the Heat Rise from Input to Outake is
lower then the regualr V.34 cardz.

Badd things is, It's not much lower, I took about 5 samples and I'm still
seeing, about a 32 degree F. Rise across the box, Intake was usually
around 69-71 Degress F. and Out-take was about 103 Degrees.. Thats is
still quite hot.

But, I must say, All the calls were 28.8 and 33.1 just about, I feel that
when the box really starts to take on 56K cards the heat will increase.
This is not a good thing.

But of course, performance comes with a price; more power (and heat).
Ascend's

I disagree, Perfromance shouldn't come with a price, The price I pay
I already expect a GREAT amount of performance. Call me crazy. But
performance I expect, Heat I deal with.
