(ASCEND) Livingston Office Router Problem...

This is weird. I have customers using all sorts of ISDN equipment that
works just find with my Max 2000 running 4.6Cp15 and 'RADIUS version 1.16
(plus Ascend extensions) 97/02/24' but this Livingston ISDN Office Router
(OR-U) will not work unless I use a Connection Profile in the Max itself and
even then it's the LAN Address that is used to authenticate the session.
The problem appears to be that the Ascend is either not seeing the hostname
from the OR-U or the OR-U is not sending the name. This results in a
failure to find a profile for this connection.

I have called Ascend (ticket # 115094) and they were helpful enough to
find this Connection Profile trick, but they say the OR-U's should work
fine without having to do this. I called Livingston (ticket # 038841) and
they think it should work fine. I have since called Livingston several
times over several days to work this out and they haven't gotten back to
me (it's been a couple of days now).

To get this customer up, I loaned them an Ascend P50 while I work on their
OR-U problem. This customer tried this OR-U with an ISP who had a PM-3
and of course it worked just fine.

Are any of you using an Ascend Max 2000 running 4.6Cp15 and 'RADIUS
version 1.16 (plus Ascend extensions) 97/02/24' having any problems
supporting Livingston ISDN Office Routers?

Thanks,
-earlw
