I just wrote a snmperl script that will show who is logged in, how long they have been logged in, their IP address, and their baudrate. Here's the output that it generates then I will explain what I don't understand. User: _paul IP Address: 10.2.120.2 Data Rate: 64000 Call connected for: 217 Hours 10 Minuites 45 Seconds -------------------------------------------------------- User: _dave IP Address: 10.2.130.3 Data Rate: 0 Call connected for: 50 Hours 43 Minuites 23 Seconds -------------------------------------------------------- The thing that I don't get is that when a query the dataRate it sometime returns the correct speed, and other times returns 0. Does anyone know why this would be? The SNMP value returned is 0 yet there is a dedicated connection at 64K that is up and the user is logged in, yet it returns 0 and not 64K. Also, can anyone better explain to me the how the Ascend Enterprise MIB works? I'm using snmperl and have to use the numeric notation to get the SNMP variables that I am looking for. For Example 1.3.6.1.4.1.529.12.2.1.3.x returns the User ID on port x. What I don't understand are the 2.1 that comes after the 529.12. I know what 1.2.6.1.4.1.529.12 represents the Ascend Session status group, but what do the 2.1 after that mean? Any help at making sense of this would really help when I add things to the script. It took me forever to figure out how to get the IP/USERNAME/DataRate/OnlineTime but still don't get how I got it. :( Thanks, Paul Monaghan paulm@ican.net ACC TelEnterprises ++ Ascend Users Mailing List ++ To unsubscribe: send unsubscribe to ascend-users-request@bungi.com To get FAQ'd: <http://www.shore.net/~dreaming/ascend-faq> or <ftp://ftp.shore.net/members/dreaming/ascend-faq.txt> ++ Ascend Users Mailing List ++ To unsubscribe: send unsubscribe to ascend-users-request@bungi.com To get FAQ'd: <http://www.shore.net/~dreaming/ascend-faq> or <ftp://ftp.shore.net/members/dreaming/ascend-faq.txt>

Prev by Date: RE: (ASCEND) SNMP-Script for call charging

Next by Date: RE: (ASCEND) 5.0Ai13 Fatal Error's

Prev by thread: (ASCEND) SNMP & MAX

Next by thread: (ASCEND) Max4004 with MacRadius

Index(es):

Main

Thread
