We've supported it since our first release of MP.  MP works fine on 6300/5393/
5399 products using any combination of async (modems), V.120, or synchronous
lines.  (In fact, it was originally developed using async lines for testing,
because the analyzers available at the time worked better on async.)

Odd.  At least in our implementation, we would have had to do extra work
to *prevent* MP from working on async lines.  There's no need for MP to
know about the link-level details, so it doesn't.
