YES YES YES!!! I realized that after I sent out the message and looked
at the
notes that the I had made form talking with one of the Ascend field
reps.
I am very sorry about that. :-(  The problem with the line side is the
async conversion that is done between the line and the CO switch.  The
conversion is done atleast 2 times which will not work with the cards. 
The Trunk side CT1 does not do this conversion as many times and hence
does not cause the problem.  This is the
way I understood it from what the Ascend rep told me and I verified with
my 
Telco contacts.
