Before you toss out your Lifestyle, check whether it is RAM or ROM based [see the earlier postings!] Do an ati3, if it says RAM, call Motorola and get it replaced, if it says ROM, check your init strings!!!! stevec@liii.com on 05/04/97 05:07:02 PM To: joshb@xtra.co.nz cc: ascend-users@bungi.com (bcc: Jeff Powell/Ascend/US) Subject: Re: (ASCEND) Motorola Lifestyle 28.8 issues. I have a Lifestyle 28.8 modem and I am using it over an ISDN line (meaning I am using the pots line of a bitsurferpro) and I get periods when everything stops. I thought it was pretty odd since the maxen are talking to the phone network via Ts and fiber and I have digital service to my house but I really have not put much effort into looking into this. On the other hand, none of my customers have complained of anything like this but not that many people have the Lifestyles modem. I think it's time I try a Cardinal 28.8 or a Sportster or something... I wonder if the mysterious problem goes away. The only person I know of at my ISP having problems with dialup connections, as funny as this is, is one of the owners, me. Go and figure...
