I was told by tech support when I called that the Max-Up units were supposed to be Max 4000's, not 4004's, so it was normal behavior. I remembered differently and did get hash codes to turn the ports back on, since they worked originally. Yesterday I had occasion to flip through my old Ascend invoices and found the ones for my Maxen... sure enough, they're listed as 4004's on the invoices.
