Ap27 works great for us on a 4004 with a single K56 card. The more-recent K56 software really sucks less. The Max has also been generally stable under Ap27, even running OSPF. I don't worry about that box at all, which says a lot. Ap16 was good too; the only reason I upgraded was for the modem code.
