It's slow (even on a grunty UNIX), sparse (ooo! look! the lights blink on the picture just like the real thing) - you can't even ask the box over SNMP who's logged in!!! And before someone says it, reading the event table to figure it all out doesn't really count... And what's worse - you've got to plug it in *twice* to manage it! Yep, you have to give the box two ethernet cards/IP addresses, and ask different questions of different cards. The hypercard version (16/modems card instead of 4) is only slightly better - you have to plug it in only three times. :( As for modem connectivity, our testing shows it's considerably worse than the Max. If you don't have a USR modem, don't expect a good connect speed. The Max sure isn't perfect, and the TNT is worse. But that doesn't seem to make other manufacturers angels...
