in order to resolve some ongoing problems with our max4000, Ascend support asked us to enable "Answer as Default" and turn on LQM. Since we turned on both of the options, several windows customers have told us that authentication (we do Radius) was now taking 20secs vs. 3secs with the Answer profile and LQM turned off. It seems like disabling all types of compression on the client side solves this problem for windows 95 users. It doesn't seem to help with NT though. Other platforms like Linux are fine, go figure.... Anyway, does anyone here have a tip how I can help our users? I'd rather not disable LQM and the answer profile again, because I'm still gathering data/response from our customers concerning the changes. -- Oliver J.
