(ASCEND) P75 Events Logging

I have a Pipeline 75 routing IP and I suspect that the router is being
pulled up by one of my machines w/out my instructing it to do so. I am
using both a PC running Win95 (TCP/IP and NetBUI and IPX and WINS) and a
Mac running AppleTalk and OpenTransport TCP/IP. In both cases, my
intention is to only route IP over the WAN and keep the other protocols
w/in the LAN. I have the "out of the box" AppleTalk call filter
installed as well as downloaded the Win95 filter from the Ascend web
site to filter out the other "chatty" bits. Despite this, my ISP
reports a number of usage hours that are very much greater than what I
would expect, and, I have noticed the WAN indicator being lit when I was
not using any IP related software. When I telnet to the router and look
at the status box, I see that the router has been called up and there is
some time associated with the event. My question: what does this time
signify? It doesn't seem to relate to "real" time in any sense and so I
can't figure out when these events are taking place. Is ther e any way
to set this clock?

Also, should I be investigating other filtering to keep all but the IP
traffic on this side of the router? To be honest, I understand the
conceptual aspects of filtering but the implemention is beyond me! Any
help in this area would be most appreciated.

Thanks
