Should work without problems, with the correct external TA device. We are
doing this here with E1, I see no reason why T1 would be any different in
that.

Should work as well.

We've tested:

MAX E1 <---> MAX E1
MAX E1 <---> Primus TA <-> MAX Serial WAN
MAX E1 <---> Primus TA <-> Pipe130 V.35 (!)

All other combinations will probably work as well. Drawback with using an
E1 this way is you instantly lose 31 HDLC channels.

BTW, the serial ports are not only V.35 but X.21 as well. Especially (and to
my own big surprise) even the Pipe130/V.35 works against a Primus TA with
X.21 cabling, meaning the Pipe130 serial port is the same as on a Max and
not V.35 only as mentioned in the "docs". The only problem is it really
won't speak more than 1.5 Mbps.

BTW^2, are the MX-SL-2PMHP cards adding "serial host ports" or "serial wan
ports" ? If they add host ports, what are they good for and is there any
chance to turn them into/use them as serial wan ports ?

TIA,
Andre.
