Re: (ASCEND) 4048 disconnects



Hi, I've got the same thing going on, and I'm certain that the problems (I
believe there are two seperate issues) have something to do with the
flashing of the modems.  I have several Maxen running 5.0Ap16 and doing
well.  The ones that I flashed to Ap24 started exhibiting the problems
you've listed below.  Even though I've rolled these units back to Ap16,
they still show the same trouble.  Either the flash to Rockwell 1.x
trashed the modems, or we have an oddly timed hardware failure.  

Two, I think that there is a seperate issue going on with the
authentication failures.  The authentication process on the Max just times
out.  The Max can talk to the RADIUS server just fine via "Terminal
Server" mode, but authentication just locks up until the box is rebooted.
Tomorrow they'll have to be swapped with modems that never got flashed to
Ap24.
