(ASCEND) MAX 56KFlex DialOut Problems

Hi All,

I've run into this really odd problem, although I'm not an expert so
it's most likely my configuration settings... 

I'm trying to setup CBCP for a group or analog users.  I've managed to
get it configured and functional, although I have a problem with the
outbound calls -- the modems are not negotiating properly, actually
they're barely negotiating at all.  The weird part of all this, if I
manually connect to a modem port (e.g. open 3:3) and then atdt <number>
the modems negotiate fine and I connect great.  

Any ideas... I've played with Mdm Trn Level and that seems to have
helped a bit, I get connected around 60% of the time now as opposed to
5% of the time before.  The analog encoding is set correctly.
