Re: (ASCEND) Quiescenting PRIs
Shawn,
I must say, I am very puzzled by your behavior.
This message thread was started to discuss a behavior that people were seeing
in a quite reasonable way and at a rational level.
I feel that you were the person who said "per the ANSI Timer standards", then
when asked for a reference you said how you would fix the problem rather than
provide a citation. I didn't see Matt acting "god like" but trying to learn
so that he could improve.
On the basis of a discussion in a mailing list (that is not an official channel
for Ascend communication) with a person who is not anywhere in the chain of
command between you and the Ascend management (this seems clear by all the
names you dropped) you are threatening to take drastic action and making
demands for things that make no sense.
If all the people you listed are already aware of the problem and agree the
problem exists, then what is the issue that your threat will resolve? Your
problem seems to be known and known at a high enough level that the bug was
already going to be addressed by Ascend ASAP. Do you just like seeing someone
being forced to grovel at your feel for daring to question your "god like"
knowledge?
About three messages ago, you could have just answered Matt "I would rather
not look it up, but if you check with the Ascend people involved - Paul Bernier
and Stuart Monks - they can fill you in on the details".
Simple, easy, and while not to the point, it allows Matt to get the information
he wanted while not inconveniencing you.
I, personally, would like to thank Matt for taking time to participate in this
mailing list. Many times I have seen valuable and timely advice from him and
I hope to continue to see it.
Normally, I would have just sent this message to you privately, but your
public vilification of a useful member of the mailing list led me to send
it to the list.
