(ASCEND) BRI Timeout?

I have a MAX4048 using 6.0.2 and PRI. I have a customer who is
connecting through BRI. What we want to do is time that link out
whenever its idle for a minute or so. Using Radius.

In the RADIUS profile I've set both:

        Idle-Timeout=60,
        Ascend-Idle-Limit=60,

But its just not idling out. So... I've got lots of questions:

1) Is there a way to monitor individual WAN interfaces to see if
   there is any traffic one way or the other that is keeping things
   from idling;

2) Does the MAX send keepalives?

3) Could there be a routing protocol (using RIP V2) going over the
   WAN and keeping it up? I have 'Framed-Routing = None' in the
   RADIUS profile, but...

Help, as always, appreciated.
