We have seen the same problem. It appears that 6.1.3 is not yet ready for
general deployment. After spending >1 hour on the phone with Ascend tech
support (int'l call;), I can assure you that 5.0A isn't all that bad to run
;-)
Tech support told me that if I didn't _need_ V.90, I should probably stay
with 5.0Ap51.
I have been seeing "LAN security errors" during perfectly good established
connections with 6.1.3, not completely related to MPP or LQM, which leads to
freezing the IP traffic over the connection, not an immediate disconnect
like it should. This happens both with ISDN and standard modems. (There
shouldn't be any of those errors, the customers are dialing in with routers
configured by us which work just fine with 5.0) Same with 6.1.0, which also
has the problem of leaking IP pools.
Anyway, we hope that 6.1.4 will finally be useable for us.
I need to mention though that tech support was very helpful, even though the
call went on about 45 min after their business hours.
Sincerely,
