(ASCEND) Default route on a Pipeline

Hello,

I have a question regarding default routes. Here's the deal... Let's say
I have a Pipeline 75 calling into a modem pool connected to a bunch of
maxen. Since I don't know wich max it will end up connecting to, I can't
know the 'lan address' for the connection profile. Let's say, I leave
that 0.0.0.0.... Now, through ppp all parties seem to know what is at the
other end. FWIW, BTW, we are not using a pool of IPs -- radius gives the
user a specific IP based on his username... PAP and the whole show...

Now... once the connection is up, there is no default route. I could make
the maxen do rip announcing over it's connections but I currently don't
have that. Win95 machines figure out the default gateway by using the IP
of the machine it connects to but it seems as if Pipeline's either get the
gateway address from the 'lan address' setting in the connection profile
or from RIP. Can it not be configured to simply use the IP of whatever it
connects to (the max it got)?

Any thoughts welcome...

Steve
