(ASCEND) bi-polar violation and another telco issue
Can anyone provide me with a decent description of what a 'bi-polar
violation' is, and why it turns a PRI into a piece of crap that causes
users to have a difficult time connecting and staying connected (that's
when the D channel is up, we all know what happens when the D goes down).
Basically, it took Bell Atlantic 4 weeks and 3 trouble tickets to figure
out what this was (after spending the first week trying to get the
installation finished). They tried everything from blaming our
equipment/software, to swapping out every bit of hardware involved. What
it finally came down to, was a bad slot in the shelf that the smartjack
plugs into. This just amazes me... after asking me how I had my 4048
configured for the 50th time, they finally figure it out. I was ready to
tear some heads off.
Well, that problem seems to be solved, but I still can't queisce my lines.
Any suggestions on what I should have Bell Atlantic look for on that?
When I do queisce, the guy at the CO says the switch doesn't show it, and
customers get a fast-busy ("re-order" in telco speak). It's been going on
ever since we added the 3rd and 4th PRI to one of our POPs, and is
starting to get rather annoying.
Any help is appreciated,
