Re: (ASCEND) [Off subject] Learned the hard way....

Hi Kevin,
Check out the Internet Office Systems from Tripp Lite.
http://www.tripplite.com/whatsnew/whatsnew.html
They have some good pictures showing the back panel.
We bought 4 of the units earlier this year and have been pleased with them
so far.
The main advantage these units offer is the outlet configuration.
The outlet spacing allows for plugging in external power supplies like the
ones supplied with Pipelines, external modems, and some hubs. They also have
6 outlets compared to the usual 2 or 4 although only 3 of them are connected
to the battery, the other three are surge protected.

They've got several models depending on your specific needs. We've used APC
products with good success as well but the Tripp Lite outlet design shows
that someone was thinking about the end user.

I've been following the Ascend users list for some time now and have
reviewed the postings for the past year. It's really been a big help to me
to have another source of information about Ascend products.
