Redistribution will work. But so will OSPF on a Max. It works fine
depending on your network design. We have many customers using OSPF today.
OTOH, you should watch out for Cisco bugs with RIPv2 on various releases of
IOS.
I would give OSPF a try on the Max first. But really think about the
design. The Max isn't a BDR and shouldn't be in area 0 at all (IMHO).
