RE: (ASCEND) Making IGP work on a Max

Has anyone else had luck with getting a Max to work properly in an area
where the wildcard mask on the border router is not 0.0.0.255? Am I
missing something? I tried to, on a cisco bdr, enter the statement

network a.b.c.d 0.0.0.31 area a.b.c.d

and place some Maxes in the same area. Wouldn't work at all.
Thanks,

Peter
