(ASCEND) P50 serving a leased line?

Hi,

I got a problem:

I need to get a P50 to serve a leased ISDN line. On the other side is a
Cisco 3640, which works flawlessly with all the other leased lines we run
into it.

I configured the Cisco to run PPP, no keepalive and ip unnumbered on the
corresponding serial interface.

The P50 is configured to run the right ISDN protocol (NET-3) and run a
leased, unused config on the 2 channels. It is setup to do NAT on the
internal network.

Now, this is the problem:
The P50 says that the line is physically connected (Line status P), and the
channel is marked as "n". Further it displays 1 connection and it _appears_
that it should work ("Lan session up").

Of course, it doesn't work, because that would be too easy ;-)

The connection is kind of frozen, and on the Cisco side I get the following
information with show interface:

Serial1/0:8 is up, line protocol is up
  Hardware is DSX1
    Description: Diko
Interface is unnumbered. Using address of Ethernet0/0 (194.77.23.197)
MTU 1500 bytes, BW 64 Kbit, DLY 20000 usec, rely 255/255, load 1/255
Encapsulation PPP, loopback not set, keepalive not set
	LCP Open
	Listen: CDPCP
	Open: IPCP

What could cause this?

I am grateful for any insight you can provide.

Sincerely,
    Lars Marowsky-Brée
