RE: (ASCEND) Pipeline 50 V 6.0.2 resetting frequently
Since upgrading to 6.0.2, my P75 exhibited the behavior described below.
My SYSLOG shows the P75 has reset itself every day or every other day
since it was upgraded to 6.0.2 on April 22.
On May 5, I sent a report to support@ascend.com and received a recipe to
reset the P75 to factory defaults. These are the steps I followed:
1. Reset the P75 to factory defaults
a. Connect to the P75 with a serial cable
b. Enter diagnostic mode with "CONTRL-D" followed by "D"
c. At the ">" prompt, type "fclear"
d. At the ">" prompt, type "nvr"
2. Reload the configuration
a. Connect to the P75 with a serial cable
b. Configure the IP address
c. Enter diagnostic mode with "CONTROL-D" followed by "D"
d. At the ">" prompt, type "trestore ..."
IMPORTANT NOTE>> Make sure to connect to the P75 with a serial
IMPORTANT NOTE>> cable. The "fclear" and "nvr" combination will
IMPORTANT NOTE>> wipe the P75's IP address and render it
IMPORTANT NOTE>> inaccessible to TELNET.
I performed these steps yesterday. After almost 24 hours, the P75 has
not reset itself.
If all goes well, on Monday I will ask support@ascend.com to close my
trouble ticket.

I see the same thing with P75's...resetting when telnet to the
box...and sometimes shortly after authenticating a session. Looks
like several times a day!
Is there a fix for this???

We have also had out p-50 reseting quite often (6.0.2 with the
firewall option), most notably after it has been up for 3-4 days
and i try to telnet to it *crash*. Ive done the pools -v
command immediately after reboot and then a day or so later, and
it seems to be leaking quite badly. Any suggestions would be
appreciated..
