(ASCEND) MAX 4000

Hello Ascend users, pair of questions:

1. Will 2 MAX'es be able to survive as a connectors between 2 ethernets,
using all 4 E1 trunks (configuring all timestots into single Prt/Grp)?
Will they be able to handle full 8 Mbit, and also run OSPF and 2-3 ISDL
cards (only on one of them)?

2. Maybe somebody has an idea, what happening in this:

traceroute to www.online.ee (194.106.96.5): 1-30 hops, 38 byte packets
 1 194.204.5.2 blue-gw.infonet.ee 2.33 ms 2.33

Hop 3 is MAX, hop 4 must be cisco. They are connected by E1 link. Cisco
does not send icmp time exceeded. Actually, it sends, but only sometimes,
and in a strange way:

traceroute to www.online.ee (194.106.96.5): 1-30 hops, 38 byte packets
 1 194.204.5.2 blue-gw.infonet.ee 2.69 ms 2.73

ms 44.5 ms

Here is ping -R, where everything is ok:

sbernard@cold /usr/home/local/sbernard> ping -R www.online.ee
PING www.online.ee (194.106.96.5): 56 data bytes

        t30m4000-e1-1.infonet.ee (212.7.1.253)

        sakala-gw-e0.online.ee (194.106.96.1)
        loom.online.ee (194.106.96.5)

Heh, I was trying to solve this for already 2 days, and still have no
idea. :)) (cisco is 3620, Version 11.2(12)P).

Fortunately, this does not affect any operation. :))
