Do you have fontpaths set correctly. You can try this at first by
prompt> xset +fp font_dir
prompt> xset fp rehash
prompt> crossedit

At the moment I can't remember ( yes, there some amount of time since coded
0.4 and there is some code changed after that :) ) any other reason.

And at the moment I am not willing to develop CrossEdit, because there
exists so many pacthes after last release, that there are no good base-code
to develop against. But as soon as a new version of CrossFire, playing or
development, is released, I will continue.
