 I can see the merging problem.  IT tries to only merge identical objects,
but the problem is that there are so many possible combinations with
certain objects having special things, that the code is not perfect
(right now it is a pretty hefty macro).

 Changing bracers to nrof 0 is probably the easiest solution.  In general,
you don't have many sets of bracers in any case.
