CF: keyed teleporters?



i've spent the last 4 hours trying to have a unique key be the only way
to trigger a teleporter and it simply does not work.

i have a piece of floor, a teleporter connected to 353 and a check_inv
set to the keycode and connected to 353.  i have another piece of floor 
2 squares away that also has the check_inv for the same keycode and it opens
the iron grate just fine every time.  why does the teleporter not work?

pulling what little hair i have left out. ;)
