Well, good news for you black and white xbm users. Since a couple of you 
responded, I looked and found out that ImageMagick will do batch 
conversions from xpm to xbm, which means I can convert all the image 
updates I've done in an easy fasion. It also seems the conversions are 
reasonably nicely dithered :).
