CF: Messing with xio.c, problems with pixmaps
Hi,
I've been trying to add a gradual transition of
light to darkness to crossfire by putting a part-dark,
part-transparent pixmap over everything else.
This has worked pretty well, and I'm almost ready to
release the patches, but the following problems occur:
1) To the best of my understanding, you can write as
many pixmaps onto a pixmap as you want, and transparent
areas should show what is blow. However, when I put
the darkness-mask over everything else, I lose the floor bitmap.
2) Occasionally, and inconsistently, certain squares are
plotted almost in reverse video: whatver is in the foreground
is plotted with a black background.
I'm completely stumped as to why these thigns are occuring.
I think I simply don't understand X.
Anyone have any ideas?
The mod's I've done so far are at:

if you care to try them out.
