Go for it, Peter, is my vote.  The GTK tutorial was pretty
straightforward, and I had no trouble comprehending it.

I'll even volunteer my time to test your code out and feed
you the context diffs.  Wanna set up a CVS server?

If Mark had the source in CVS, we'd be able to submit patches
relative to the current source code more rapidly.  We've just
taken on CVS in the Netrek development community.
